Cycle Safety
Today, the pupils of Third Class swapped their chairs for bikes. Pupils were trained by experienced coaches on how to cycle safely. They practiced various skills and techniques. Well done to all!
Giving for Living
On Friday, we participated in 'Jersey Day'. This fundraiser was in aid of Cork based cancer support services. Which team do you support?
Letters from New York !
Today, our replies from New York arrived. We were so excited to see what our Pen Pals had written. We can't wait to reply.
Active Schools Week !
This week is Active Schools Week here at Scoil Naomh Eltin. 3rd Class completed the following activities:
- Circuits.
- A walk to the Community Orchard.
- Dances
- PE activities.
- Teachers Vs. Students Wall Sit Challenge.
Fun in the Sun !
This afternoon, we enjoyed our lunch outside in the garden. Everyone enjoyed chats and good food in the sunshine.
Comic book creations.
A massive thank you to the pupils of 6th Class who today treated us to a viewing of their history comics. 6th Class worked very hard on creating these and we were so grateful they shared them with us.
Learning with Lego.
Today, pupils combined iPads and Lego to code and create new inventions.
Summer Sketching.
This week, we soaked up the beautiful sunshine. Pupils went outside for their art lesson. In the back garden, we completed observational nature sketches.
GAA Blitz.
Pupils from 3rd Class A and B participated in the local GAA Blitz. They met many pupils and friends from other schools. We all enjoyed some sport in the sunshine.
Food Dudes.
We took part in the Food Dudes programme and ate some delicious fruit and vegetables.
Green Schools Collaboration and Planting
This week, the pupils of Third Class A collaborated with the Green Schools Committee. Together, we planted Spring flowers to brighten up our environment. Our class also participated in SuperValu's 'Let's Grow' campaign. We planted cress, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and peas. We're so excited to harvest them.
Pen Pals in New York
This year, the pupils of Third Class A and B have paired up with Willow Avenue Elementary School in New York. Each pupil has a pen pal to write to. We wrote our first letters this week. We can't wait to read the responses.

Fun Friday!
As part of 'Feel Good February' we put our baking skills to the test. Pupils made Rice Crispy cakes. Making them was fun but eating them was even better!

We are half way through 'Feel Good February'. Pupils and Staff are enjoying various uplifting activities. On 'Work Out Wednesday', we went for a Spring walk.

Grandparent's Day
Scoil Naomh Eltin celebrated Grandparent's Day on Wednesday. We were thrilled to welcome relatives into our classroom and school.

This week, we made fruit salads to brighten our day and our plates.
Festive Fundraiser.
Today, the pupils of Scoil Naomh Eltin participated in a Christmas Jumper/ Non-Uniform Day. The funds raised will be donated to Kinsale's local St. Vincent De Paul branch. Here are some snapshots from our day.

Christmas Carol Service
The pupils of Third Class A and B worked together to sing and preform for the residents of Kinsale Hospital and Day Care Centre. Pupils had a wonderful day, as did the residents.
Winter Walks
On Friday afternoon, we went for a 'Winter Walk'. Pupils enjoyed a stroll in the fine weather.
Science Week
This week Third Class A built boats. Using these boats, we investigated floating and sinking. We also participated in the school Science Fair.

Busy Bees!
On Thursday, we coded Bee-Bots. Pupils were challenged to design the track and code the bees accordingly.
Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble!
Third Class A participated in some spooky science during the week when they created their own potions.
Smarty Pants!
Fun Fridays! Last week, we swapped the books for some sweet treats. Third Class A used smarties to make charts, answer questions and discuss 'Data'. Pupils put their mathematical knowledge to the test and tested the smarties too.
