3rd class worked extremely hard researching their favourite animals over the last few weeks. Each child wrote their own report learning many new and fascinating facts about their animal. Many drafts and edits later we received a very exciting parcel in the post with their very own class book 'Pawsome Animals'. 3rd class made their own flashcards to teach new vocabulary to pupils in Rang a haon. They then read short stories as Gaeilge as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. Maith thú gach duine!
3rd class got to watch the final dress rehearsal of Beauty and the Beast with the rest of the school. Let the show commence!!
Scoil Naomh Eltin boys and girls played indoor football in Riverstick hall against other local schools. Great day out for all!
We had great fun designing Patrick Kielty's Christmas jumper for this year's Late Late Toy Show. The children also had their very own 'mini' Toy Show where each child presented their favourite toy to the class. The children loved seeing different toys and asking questions about them. 3rd class had great fun participating in science week this year. Children were given the task in groups to prepare a science experiment to demonstrate to Junior Infants and each other. All the children put in a lot of work and they really enjoyed watching each other taking part in science. 3rd class had the lovely opportunity to travel to Pairc Uí Choimh to support the girls in the football Sciath na Scol final. We made posters and banners to cheer on the girls and gave them a great send off before they left. Scoil Naomh Eltin were successful in winning their very first girl's football Sciath na Scol final. We are all so proud of what they achieved. Naomh Eltin Abú!
3rd class took their first trip to Kinsale's new library. The children got a chance to look around the building and the librarian read them a story. All children have now signed up to the library and have their own school library card. We hope to get lots of use and visits to pick out new books throughout the year!
3rd class were busy researching all 20 countries that are involved in the Rugby World Cup this year. They learned about the different continents, capital cities, currencies, flags and lots more information.
3rd class enjoyed their first week back catching up with each other and eating lunch outside in the lovely weather we have been having!
