Following the successful preparation of our wildflower meadow last year, Transition Town Kinsale have invited the students of 3rd class to transform their own garden spaces, whether it’s a 1m x 1m patch, a larger area, or even a window box or pot. This transformation will take place by covering the allocated plot of ground and leaving it undisturbed until the arrival of spring. In spring, seeds of local Irish wildflowers will be generously provided by Transition Town Kinsale and students will be shown how to sow these.
Our caretaker, Mark Robertson, took some time this morning to show the students how to prepare the ground in the hope that all will participate. The clips below demonstrate the ground prep and how easy it is to make a small contribution to a wider community effort to help our planet.
