Dear Parent/Guardian,
School will close at 12.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 14th of March to facilitate a staff meeting. Is mise le meas, Ann Marie Calnan In order to celebrate 10 years of the 'Operation Transformation' programme on RTE, 10@10 was a plan to get every primary school in the country moving and exercising for 10 minutes at 10am on February the 10th! As you can see from the pictures and videos below the children of Scoil Naomh Eltin were more than up for the challenge. With the support and guidance of staff and parents, the entire school went walking at 10am. Younger students went up the hill and around by the convent, while the older students walked (and jogged!) the loop of Compass Hill. One of our 5th class students, Azra, also wrote a letter to the programme asking that they might show our walk on the Operation Transformation! Whether or not we end up on the show we great fun, and everyone agreed that it would be wonderful to do again in the near future. A big thanks to everyone who joined in and helped out. February 9th, 2017 Dear Parent / Guardian, Pupils in 6th class have recently been measured for the gowns which they will wear for the ceremony of Confirmation. The cost per child is €15. A link will be sent to you via text which is payable by February 28th. These gowns will be given to the children in school on Monday, March 27th, and will need to be returned to school again after the ceremony on Tuesday, March 28th, or on Wednesday morning, March 29th at the latest. Any gowns not returned by this date will have to be posted to the company at your own cost. Is mise le meas, Mr. Wright Dear Parents/Guardians Second class pupils who are preparing to make their First Holy Communion, will make their First Reconciliation (Confession) on Monday March 13th at 7 p.m. in the Parish Church. Is mise le meas Miss O’ Driscoll A Special Kind of Love There’s a special kind of love that grandchildren have for their grandparents. It’s filled with respect for their wisdom and accomplishments; With gratitude for the values they’ve given us... with delight in the stories of our family that they remember and share. It’s a special kind of love that’s built on a lifetime of caring and giving. It’s the kind of love that’s felt for you my dear grandparent, today and always. Thank you to our grandparents, parents and guardians who came to share this special day with us. Thank you for your shared stories and your words of wisdom. We look forward to welcoming you back next year. From Your grandchildren Congratulations to our 4th class indoor camogie team who qualified for the south east finals last Friday. After a tough qualifying group they finished undefeated and joint top drawing their first game 2-2 and coming from behind to win their 2nd game 2-1. In what was a massive result for the girls it would never have been achieved without the usual tremendous Scoil Naomh Eltin spirit and hard work. Well done to the all girls from the class and we wish them luck in the finals on the 10/2/17 in Riverstick Community Hall.
