Scoil Naomh Eltin are victorious in FAI Soccer Tournament!

Well done to boys from 5th and 6th Class who were victorious on Monday, 27th of February in the FAI 5-a-side soccer tournament.
SNE played 5 group games, winning four and drawing one. This enabled us to progress to the quarter finals as group winners. Victories in the quarter and semi finals saw us through to the final where we defeated St Mary's Carrigaline in an epic encounter by 3 goals to 1.
The talent, skill and impressive interplay of the boys was matched by their hardwork, togetherness and determination. Each and every player displayed a great attitude and showed admirable resolve.
Our heroic, commanding goalkeeper pulled off some eye catching saves and our  general defensive play was calm and assured. This allowed us to start our attacks on the front foot. In midfield there were powerful, surging runs both forward and back. While our attackers showed great work rate and link up play.
Many of the goals scored by SNE on the day would be worthy of iclusion in any Premier League Goal of the Month compilation.
The boys now progress to the next round of the competition in Turner's Cross at the end of March. We will be training hard in the meantime!

We are so proud of our debaters, they have made it to the semi-final of the Concern Primary Debating Tournament. They have put in hours of research and preparation for each motion and have had to think on their feet under pressure but more importantly have shown great respect for one another and their opponents.
