Please send this to school as soon as possible. Please also ensure that all is in good condition. First Holy Communion - Do this in memory Monthly Preparation Masses/Monthly Confirmation Preparation Masses I wish to remind you of the importance of your child’s attendance at these masses in preparation for both sacraments Birthday Invitations Please do not hand out birthday invitations on the schooyard. This is causing distress to some of our students. Also due to increasing allergies and dietary requirements I ask that parents do not send cakes, sweets or other to school to mark birthdays. Parking Please do not double-park on school grounds at drop off or collection time. This causes traffic congestion and puts students at risk. I wish to bring the following to your attention: Tracksuit days for the remainder of this term starting Monday November 20th will be Monday and Thursday. In school activities which have now finished: Athletics for students from junior infants to 2nd has now finished for this school year. 3rd to 6th class athletic lessons will take place in the spring/summer term. Christmas Concert “Countdown to Christmas” – Scoil Naomh Eltin – Wednesday December 13th (12 noon and 7pm) On alternate years the students at Scoil Naomh Eltin will do either a major production (Jonah) or a simpler production. This is necessary as bigger productions eat into curricular time. Therefore this year the students will perform in a whole-school Christmas concert. They will present the story of the nativity, told through song and verse. There will be two showings – one at 12 noon and one at 7pm. This will ensure that every parent/guardian will manage to attend and, most importantly, to get a seat. School Closures November 22nd Please be reminded that school will be closed on Wednesday November 22nd for Primary Language In-service. November 30th School will close at 2.30pm on Thursday November 30th to facilitate parent teacher meetings which will run from 3pm until 5.45pm. Dear Parent/Guardian, Parent/Teacher meetings have been arranged for the week commencing 27th November for students from 1st to 6th class. We look forward to meeting you all on an individual basis to discuss your child’s progress. You will appreciate that it will be difficult to satisfy everybody with regard to times. To avoid confusion and unnecessary inconvenience to you, we have set up an online booking system so you can immediately see the times and dates available and book your preferred slot. If you have more than one child in a class please book an appointment per child. Each class has a separate link that you will see below. Please book an appointment with your child’s name. Any parent not signed up by that day will be assigned a remaining available time. Thank you for your cooperation with this new system. Yours sincerely, Susan O’ Hanrahan The annual Scoil Naomh Eltin Open Evening will take place this Thursday November 16th from 7-8:30pm. All are welcome!
Today in Scoil Naomh Eltin, as part of Maths Week, parents, children and teachers took part in a variety of Maths games. Maths stations were set up and all children from Senior Infants, First Class and Second Class engaged in these. Activities included 2-D and 3-D Shapes, Matching, Counting, Snakes and Ladders, Skittles Estimation Game, Connect-4, Dice Games and Play Dough Numbers. It was a great success and both students and parents enjoyed it - we hope to make this an annual Maths activity in Scoil Naomh Eltin. |
