Members of our Green Schools Committee were very lucky to attend a Green schools water workshop on Monday 20th January in Clonakilty. As we are now working towards attaining our 'water' flag, the workshop employed a mixture of interactive demos, water related games, PowerPoint presentations, water themed clips, videos and, importantly, group work to deliver a water conservation message to schools and by extension the whole school community. The workshops enable schools to engage with each other and share their knowledge and experience of the Green-Schools Water theme. This workshop provided an opportunity for our team to discuss any issues we might encounter during our programme and how to seek advice from other schools, Irish Water, Local Authorities and Green-Schools staff. During the forums students were informed of the Seven Steps Green-Schools programme and how to successfully complete the Water theme and important issues surrounding water.

The truth is, I want to learn more stuff about green schools water workshop. Lucky are those who were given the chance to be part of the workshop. Most of the attendees were students, that’s why I am pretty sure that they are going to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned. It was also a medium for the school officials to know other problems that have something to so with students’ welfare. I am glad to know that it turned out really well. The workshop was indeed great.
