Information Note
RoseAbbey Park Pedestrian/Disabled Access
RoseAbbey Park faces onto the school. Residents have access to the main road via an opening in the wall running alongside the park. This opening is used by residents for pedestrian and disabled access. It has been brought to my attention that some of our parents/guardians are parking in front of this opening and blocking access. Please refrain from doing so.

What should I do if my child cannot go to school?
You must tell the school that your child cannot attend and say why. Write a short note to the school to explain why your child was out of school and send it in with your child when they go back to school. Generally, there are good reasons why a child is missing school (e.g. illness).
Keep in regular contact with your child’s school to explain why your child is absent and, where appropriate, provide medical certificates.
Bachelor of Education Student
Aislinn O’ Mahony will be joining us from Mary Immaculate College of Education . Aislinn is a fourth year Bachelor of Education student. Aislinn will be with us for Term 1. She will spend time observing in all classes and will undertake teaching practice with Fourth Class from October 10th to Friday November 11th.
Tracksuit days
Tracksuit days for Term 1 for all students will be Monday and Tuesday.
Parking
The school car park opens at 9.00 for parent/guardians to drop students. Students are supervised on the small yard from 9.00. Students are not allowed on the premises before this time. To aid traffic flow the school set down areas should be used for set down only. Please do not use the staff car park at any time for parking or for dropping students
Under no circumstances should the vehicle entrance gates be used to exit in the morning.
Jonah (a fishy tail )
We are planning a school show this year. It is hoped that the show will be ready just before the Christmas holidays. All students will take part. Students from 3rd to 6th are currently auditioning for roles and duties are being assigned. As practice gets underway we will be looking for support in various areas and particularly as the performance time draws near.
Listening, doing our best, caring and being happy.
I have spoken to all students about the importance of listening in school, of doing our work at home and in school to the best of our ability , of being kind and finally of being happy in school. Please support your child in achieving these goals.
How to contact the your child's teacher or the school principal .
Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any concerns or queries. Appointments may be made with your child’s teacher and the school principal through the school office which may be contacted on 021 4774040
On behalf of all at Scoil Naomh Eltin I wish our students and families the best for the school year.
