In order to celebrate 10 years of the 'Operation Transformation' tv programme on RTE, 10@10 was a plan to get every primary school in the country moving and exercising for 10 minutes at 10am on February the 10th! As you can see from our video the children of Scoil Naomh Eltin were more than up for the challenge. With the support and guidance of staff and parents, the entire school went walking at 10am. Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st class students went up the hill and around by the convent. Have a look at our video to see! Junior Infants have been learning about the the hopital for the last few weeks. The children have been role playing going to the doctor’s surgery and playing with the hospital. They have learned how to use a stethoscope and a thermometer. Here are some pictures of the children hard at work! From all in Junior Infants On Wednesday, 18th of january Junior Infants visited Kinsale Library. We met the librarian, Tom and he told us all about the library. We really enjoyed listening to our teachers reading lots of stories. The best part of the day was picking out our own books and flicking through them with our friends. Thank you for inviting us Tom. We were so excited to see Santa Claus arriving at school on the day of our Christmas Holidays. We had a lovely chat with Santa and reminded him what was on our christmas list. Santa told us we have to be in bed very early on Christmas Eve or else he won't be able to leave our presents! Thank you Santa!  Our theme for the last fortnight at Aistear was 'The Restaurant'. The boys and girls were pretending to be chefs, waiters, waitresses and customers in our lovely restaurant. They were building tables and chairs in the construction area, and making yummy things to eat and drink in the play doh area. We also created lovely menus for our restaurant and sorted healthy and unhealthy foods. At the art station we did food printing with paint! It was lots of fun, but made our tummies grumble! Junior Infants had a visit from the local Gardaí today. Garda Dave and Garda John told us all about being safe crossing the road. Then we all got to go into the Garda Car. Garda Dave challenged us to see if we could all fit in to the car at once, it was tricky but we all piled in! Some of us even tried on the Garda hat! Thank you for visiting Junior Infants. |
