Last Thursday, March 6th was World Book Day. Third Class marked this very important annual event by making a trip to the local library in Market Quay, Kinsale. The friendly and helpful librarian explained how the library works, and showed us where the books for our age group are kept. As you can see, we all found more than a few interesting books in the library! Please note that all pupils will go home at 12.45 pm on Tuesday, 1st April to facilitate a staff meeting. Many thanks.
Following on from a successful and enjoyable 6 weeks with 6th class, 5th class are getting an opportunity to participate in computer classes every Friday with Ms Harney. The students will develop I.T. skills such as typing and learn about basic programming by using both Light-bot and Scratch software. Links to both websites can be found below so our budding I.T. experts can practise their new skills at home! Second class have been preparing for and are looking forward to receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We'll be making our First Confession next Wednesday, 12th March at 7pm at the Parish Church. This morning I spoke with Dermot Hurley MMD who is our building site foreman. Dermot is delighted to inform me that the concrete is now being poured for the first floor of our new school and blockwork will follow. Electrical and plumbing works will start next week on the ground floor. We are delighted to see sunshine and good weather at last!
