The Kinsale Giant

Picture
We had a wonderful visit from Barry Maloney who taught us lots about  Kinsale and it's history.
We learned about our very special outdoor school sculpture that has many symbols in it to represent these important stories. We even got to meet the Kinsale Giant who popped in to visit us at the end of the lesson! Kinsale's very own B.F.G.

Many thanks Barry, We really enjoyed learning with you.

Poetry corner

Today, one of our classmates decided to write a poem & they did such a great job we decided to share it. Watch out for more wonderful work from our learners in Senior Infants B!
Frog
 A frog sees a bog.
A log rolls on the bog.
The frog cannot go in the bog!
Oh no! Another log is incoming!
There are 2 logs now.
There are 2 more incoming!
The frog counts 1,2,3,4....  Are there ANY more?
     Phew!

Cooking up a storm in Senior Infants B!

We are exploring all the different ways we can make sounds to represent the sounds of a thunder storm.  We used body percussion and even made our own instruments! A special thanks to our very own conductor who helped us structure our performance for you. We hope you enjoy it.

Tinsel Takeover: Day 4

Senior Infants B have been very busy posting letters recently. Check out this video of them hard at work!

Tinsel Takeover: Day 3

Today Senior Infants B used the dictation tool on Microsoft Word to write a Christmas story together. Here's what they came up with!

Once Upon a time there was a gingerbread man and Santa.
They lived in a gingerbread house. And they liked to eat cookies and milk.

One day they went for a walk outside and they saw a flower and there was a lot of them.
Suddenly they saw a wolf.
And the wolf was wicked he did not like Christmas.
The wolf was wicked because he didn't like Christmas because he all of the friends will be nice and giving them presents. He did not like this. The wolf said I might catch santa.

And then the wolf jumped at him and tried to catch him as well.
The wolf put Santa into a bag and and he's tries to escape.
The ginger and man was frightened and scared. The gingerbread man said i am brave! I can do this!!

So he he called for help and Rudolph ran in.
They gave the wolf a present.
The wolf said sorry for trapping santa in the bag.

Santa was so happy and then they all celebrated together.
They danced and they put up their Christmas tree.
They laughed and played. They ate cake. They were singing.

They had a great day together and they lived happily ever after

Tinsel Takeover: Day 2

A sample of poetry written especially for the blog by Senior Infants B!

'Litll moel'

"Litll moel, you will need some koall,
To lite the chimne
You will see me in my houes
with not a mous"

'The gurl cold Christmas.'

But she can't.... (To be continued tomorrow)

Tinsel Takeover: Day 1

Senior Infants B came up with some homemade Christmas Crackers for their first day on the blog:
Why did  the cracker cross the road?
Because the man pulled it on the other side.

Why did the snow girl not go to the dance party?
Because she had no snow one to dance with.

Why did Santa go to the bathroom?
Because he was bursting.

Why did Santa go on the roof?
Because he needed to lay an egg!

Why did the snowman laugh?
Because his friend was snow funny!

Tinsel Takeover in Senior Infants B!

Oh deer!  Sleigh what?!!  Looks like Senior Infants B are becoming rebels without a Claus! They've decided it's time to 'spruce' things up on the classroom blog and have taken it over from now until Christmas break. It's snow laughing matter! Stay tuned for more...
