We were very happy to welcome Caroline Casey and Garda Dave Kelly to the school yesterday when they spoke to 1st – 6th class pupils. They discussed wearing helmets when cycling and some cycling rules of the road. Caroline also encouraged the children to carpool when possible to alleviate traffic and to make sure that they hold hands when crossing the road. ‘Holding hands saves lives’ was her mantra. Caroline kindly offered to help us to set up a school student safety committee who will help remind pupils of the rules of the road as part of our Green School Initiative.
