Scoil Naomh Eltin opened it's doors on 2nd September 2013. The school is an amalgamation of St John's Boys NS and St Joseph's NS. The school was initially accommodated on the grounds of St Joseph's NS whilst a new school was  being built on the site of St John's NS.

MMD Construction Cork Ltd were awarded the building contract for the new school and commenced work on Tuesday 29th October 2013.

The development consisted of the demolition of the existing single storey primary school, the construction of a two-storey primary school consisting of 16 classrooms, general purpose hall, library, support accommodation and all ancillary works; new vehicular and pedestrian entrance from Roseabbey Park, car park spaces, set down area, pedestrian and cycle pathways, 2 ball courts, play areas, signage, landscaping and ancillary site works on part of an overall site of 0.85ha.

The new school building opened on 15/9/2014.  Students, staff , parents and the wider community made the voyage through the town of Kinsale on foot to the new school which welcomed all in bright and radiant sunlight.  A new story has begun and we give thanks.
