Scheme of Work - Week of June 15th
Dear Parent/Guardian and Students,
Active WEEK
This week is Scoil Naomh Eltin Active Week which means no books, no writing – just focus on getting active. This weeks challenges are attached to this message. All links have also been put together in one unique Padlet for ease of access for students and parents. https://padlet.com/alicegosnell/rafxv5l473598bsl I would appreciate any photos or videos of your child being active so they can be posted on our school website.
Graduation
Our online Graduation ceremony will take place this Friday June 19th at 11am. As per the instructions for last week’s Zoom call I would ask that you once again send a short email by Thursday June 18th stating that you have permission to join the online meeting.
My name is ________________and my child’s name is ___________________.
I have explained the meeting etiquette and will be present in the same room as my child during the meeting.
I have explained to my child that excellent behavior is expected at all times.
In preparation for our Graduation I would as that all students email me their "hope for the future" as they will read this out to the group on the day. If any pupil is interested in reading a short poem they can email me a poem they would like to read. This needs to be done by Tuesday June 16th.
Book Rental
Please note that the school will organise for the collection of books on book rental this week. You will receive a message from the school office regarding a drop off time.
For 6th class students, these books include:
• Busy at Maths 6
• Reading Zone

• Geography Quest
• Grow in Love
• Dictionary and Thesaurus

Beautifully presented written work - well done.
A great book review!
A super example of the Comic Strip students were asked to create based on the novel 'War Horse'.
Take a look at some work that one of our students has been busy creating during the school closure!
We have a talented baker in our midst who was willing to share this delicious recipe with us...I can't wait to try it!

We enjoyed working with numbers all around us. We used car registrations to work out lots of problems! |
We had a wonderful morning working with Fiona, the artist involved in creating the school sculpture.
THE CELTS
We were learning about the Celts and created crannógs and Ring Forts. We used clay, lollipop sticks, matchsticks and found materials such as pebbles and straw. Some students chose to create crannógs on lakes while others worked on the interior of a Ring Fort. Can you spot any ogham stones?
