Tag Rugby
We are lucky to have a tag rugby coach from Munster Rugby working with 6th class over the next few weeks. It is a great opportunity to learn a new game that many of us may not have tried before.
Science Week
For Science Week pupils came up with their own science investigations and demonstrations. We also investigated how sound travels and made our very own telephones.

All links have also been put together in one unique Padlet for ease of access for students and parents. https://padlet.com/alicegosnell/rafxv5l473598bsl I would appreciate any photos or videos of your child being active so they can be posted on our school website.
Graduation
Our online Graduation ceremony will take place this Friday June 19th at 11am. As per the instructions for last week’s Zoom call I would ask that you once again send a short email by Tuesday June 16th stating that you have permission to join the online meeting.
My name is ________________and my child’s name is ___________________.
I have explained the meeting etiquette and will be present in the same room as my child during the meeting.
I have explained to my child that excellent behavior is expected at all times.
In preparation for our Graduation I would as that all students email me their "hope for the future" as they will read this out to the group on the day. If any pupil is interested in reading a short poem they can email me a poem they would like to read. This needs to be done by Tuesday June 16th.

Scheme of Work June 2nd
Dear Parent/Guardian and Students,
We hope you are all keeping well and got an opportunity to enjoy the long weekend and the fine weather we have been having. As we approach the last few weeks of the school term we will be lessening the amount of assigned work but we would encourage you to continue to complete it. In the coming weeks we will enjoy zoom meetings, sports/active home week and graduation – one like we’ve never had before…we’re making history!

Samhain
In November we created some Irish videos using a green screen and an iPhone. We carried out a science investigation that looked at creating a rocket. We had a visit from an artist who is currently completing a school sculpture. The class had the opportunity to design boats as part of the lesson. For Science week we created our own bouncy ball. The most exciting part of the month was the Kids Kitchen Takeover. The photos of the event do not do justice to the excitement and amazing day we had! Lat week we visited the Squid cafe where we got to play games and pool!
Deireadh Fómhair
October was jam packed! For Space week we had a Skype call from Blackrock Observatory. We also went to Actons hotel for a talk about mental health. We completed a school maths trail for maths week. We began using tablets in the class. We started athletics with our wonderful coach Claire and the month finished with a trip to Páirc Uí Rinn for the girls Sciath na Scol final. We even had time for Science where we learned about the pH sacle.
Meán Fómhair
September was a busy month for 6th class with a trip to Curraheen Showgrounds where children were introduced to orienteering. September also saw the start of our chess league with Mr. Murray. We also learned about the Celts in history and played some fun new maths games.
