A massive well done to the 4th class girls who came runners up in the Sciath na Scol indoor camogie final on Friday March 10th in Riverstick. We are so proud of you! We were delighted to hear , that some of our students' art entries for the St. Patrick's Day Art Competition were placed.
From left to right Isaac Bale Cornally was placed in 3rd place in the overall 4th class category. Bartek Grabski was placed as highly commended in the 3rd class overall category. Frida Healy was placed in 2nd place in the 3rd class overall category. Sofia Chahir was placed 1st in the 1st class overall category. Liah Brown was placed 2nd in the 1st class overall category. Scoil Naomh Eltin is immensely proud of these students artistic achievements. We wish them well when they attend the prize giving ceremony at the tourist office at 1.15pm on St. Patricks Day 17th of March! A fantastic day was had at world Book Day here at Scoil Naomh Eltin.
Pupils and teachers alike dressed up as their favourite book character. Spirits were high and all students were budding book worms. Delighted to have had the opportunity to purchase new books from our annual Scholastic Book Fair, that has been open at school this past week.Pupils have been purchasing a variety of texts varying from picture story books to factual and fictional narratives and some flashy pieces of stationery! Our school benefits from all books purchased by students, as we get a percentage to spend on school literacy resources, which is a welcome added bonus! Pupils listened to the first Chapter of many books where the actual author of the book reads aloud to them. Pupils also received reading award certificates for great reading! Pupils also engaged in shared/ paired reading with younger classes. |
