We are delighted to announce that Scoil Naomh Eltin won the title of overall winners in the First Annual Equestrian Awareness Children's Colouring/Art Competition from the Kinsale Point-to-Point Festival 2016. As well as this, we had 7 individual winners in their various categories. Well done to everyone who participated in the competition and congratulations to our individual winners too.
Reminder: School will close at 12.30 on Monday, 20th of June to facilitate a staff meeting.
Thank you On Wednesday 15th June 2016, 10 pupils from 5th and 6th class were chosen to represent Scoil Naomh Eltin in a tag rugby tournament. We traveled to the rugby pitch in the morning for what was a fantastic day. We played three matches against local schools -and won all of them!!
Our amazing total of 9 tries were scored by Louis, Eoin, Tyler and Ivanna, but without our fantastic tagging defense of Diego, Martin, Lia, Ali, Bridget and Eoghan, we wouldn't have secured our wins. A big credit to the 10 chosen pupils. Not only did they look the part in their new jerseys (thank you to our sponsors MMD for the kit!) but they were an absolute credit to the school. They showed great sportsmanship after every match, and were so well behaved. A big thank you to the two parents who so kindly gave up their time to drop and collect the pupils from the pitch, and another big thank you to Kinsale Rugby Club for the thoroughly enjoyable tournament. Congratulations to all who represented our school in Cork sports and wore our jerseys for the first time. Thanks to MMD for sponsoring the jerseys. We will wear them with pride. Well done to our young and aspiring runners. Our Junior Entrepreneurs from 6th class were interviewed today by TV3 in Cork .
