We were very happy to welcome Caroline Casey and Garda Dave Kelly to the school yesterday when they spoke to 1st – 6th class pupils. They discussed wearing helmets when cycling and some cycling rules of the road. Caroline also encouraged the children to carpool when possible to alleviate traffic and to make sure that they hold hands when crossing the road. ‘Holding hands saves lives’ was her mantra.
Caroline kindly offered to help us to set up a school student safety committee who will help remind pupils of the rules of the road as part of our Green School Initiative.

There was lots of excitement in Junior Infants and 1st Class this week. 1st class teamed up with a buddy from Junior Infants to read a story together. The students loved reading with each other and asking each other questions. It was wonderful to watch the love of reading blossom!
We are delighted to share the great news that three of our 6th class students will be representing Kinsale, Cork, Munster and Ireland in the u12 Rugby World Cup tournament in Marseille this week. The boys will play teams from all over the world as well as taking in a live World Cup game between South Africa and Scotland! We are very proud of our student athletes and we are sure they will represent us with distinction.
RTE News will broadcast a report on the team from Kinsale on Wednesday at 6pm and 9pm on RTE 1. Tune in to catch a glimpse of the boys before they jet off.
Go n-éirí libh agus bonne chance!
