Taking place over the 4 days leading up to Opening Ceremony in Tallaght Stadium on Thursday 14th, the Flame of Hope makes it's way around Ireland visiting primary schools and service centres across 15 counties. Some lucky pupils even got an ice-lolly to enjoy on the walk back to the school! Well done to all our athletes who competed at Cork City Sports last Friday. Our school had a number of children who earned a top three finish in the sprints and the relays. Children and parents should be extremely proud of all those who took part.
In 2017 Cork's 96FM's "Giving for Living" Radiothon was a huge success, raising over €412,264 to support cancer services in Cork in; the Mercy Hospital, Cork University Hospital, Marymount Hospice, Breakthrough Cancer Research and Cork Arc Cancer Support House. Today Scoil Naomh Eltin had our own "Giving For Living" fundraiser. The whole school, with the help and support of parents and staff, had a wonderful walk in the sunshine around the Ramparts and Compas Hill. Not only were we keeping fit and enjoying ourselves on our walk, we also managed to raise over €1000! Well done to everyone and thanks to all involved. Congratulations to the 6th class students who made their Confirmation. Once again the students were a credit to the school. Their prayers, songs and efforts in general made the ceremony as beautiful as it was. A huge thanks to Mr Wright and Ms Fahy along with Fr Young, Sr Mary and all the parents who helped with preparations for the ceremony. Well done everyone! |
