Sarah O’ Brien, a wonderful artist, worked with 3rd and 5th class students at Scoil Naomh Eltin.
3rd class visited the local museum where the pupils sketched items in their sketch pads. Pupils were also encouraged to use their sketch pads outside of school. The progress made by every child was wonderful – their attention to detail, shape, line and colour.
5th class based their art workshop on the local marsh as this was their topic of choice for the BT Young Scientist competition also. We learned so much both in class and on our visits to the marsh. Goethes color triangle, water colours, clay, blind drawings and collage were just some of the areas we explored. The art projects we completed really brought our study on the marsh to life and we are so thankful to Sarah and Cork County Council for enabling this to happen.
