Scoil Naomh Eltin choir 'Harmonious' recently had their biggest excursion yet. Having being established last October the choir has gone from strength to strength. With many in-school performances completed, including a very successful Christmas concert,
Harmonious performed to a full house in the Cork Opera House on Tuesday March 8th. This was part of a “Sing Out Loud” production, a stage school which aims to give children the gift of performing in substantial venues and give the wonderful gift of memories that will last a lifetime. The choir certainly rose to the occasion and months of hard work culminated in an enchanting performance which left the audience wanting more.
Before we left school we were treated to pizza by the Parent Association, it was yummy!! On arrival at the Cork Opera House we were given a tour backstage and shown the actual stage we would be performing on. It was HUGE! A quick rehearsal and it was show time! What excitement!
We were fantastic! What a show. There was a full band to accompany us. Local singing talent, a drum display, a world class Irish dancer who once danced for president Barack Obama in the White House, but Mrs. Neary still thinks our performance was the highlight!
We will definitely be back next year!.
